Kara M. McLoy

Kara Moheban McLoy is a member of the firm’s litigation practice group.  Prior to joining Drohan, Tocchio & Morgan in 2006, Ms. McLoy was a Senior Associate at the Boston office of Holland & Knight, LLP, where she practiced for six years.  She has represented clients before courts and administrative agencies in a wide variety of cases involving commercial litigation, unfair trade practices, non-competition, wrongful termination, discrimination disputes, sexual harassment, insurance matters, medical malpractice and all types of business and contract disputes.  Ms. McLoy also counsels clients, including educational institutions, on employment and personnel issues in an effort to minimize or avoid litigation exposure.  

Ms. McLoy is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, American Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. 

Ms. McLoy received her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Boston College in 1992 and her J.D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School .  During law school, Ms. McLoy was elected editor-in-chief of the Suffolk University Law Review.  During that time, she also served as a research assistant to the Honorable Charles Fried, former Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and a judicial intern to the Honorable Linda S. Dalianis, currently a Senior Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court.  Before joining Holland & Knight, Ms. McLoy served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sherman D. Horton, Jr., former Senior Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court.  She presently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts .
